Hyderabad is the capital of Indian State, Andhra Pradesh, known for its rich history and culture. Also known as the City of Nizams and the City of Pearls, Hyderabad is a metropolitan city where traditionality blends with modernity. Hyderabad was founded by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah on the banks of the Musi River in 1591. He named the city after his wife Hyder Mahal. The Mughals later showed their supremacy over the region. When India gained independence in 1947, the Nizam of Hyderabad had wanted remain independent or to accede to Pakistan. But with the signing of the Instrument of Accession, the State of Hyderabad was included as Indian state. It was further sub-divided into Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka.
Hyderabad used to be the richest and the largest among other princely states of India. Today, the city has developed itself into a city offering IT Enabled services and features various Pharmaceuticals and Entertainment industries. It has also been termed as the second Silicon Valley of India after Bangalore. With many Fortune 500 companies, there has been massive development with investments in digital structures thus making it HITEC City.
If we discuss of culture, it is the city where North India meets South India. The Hyderabadi cuisine is specially a blend of Mughal and Persian cuisine and Hyderabadi Biryani is the most famous dish of the city which is not to be missed out. The cuisine of Hyderabad is surely to relish upon.
